Welcome to

Out There

Out There offer active, outdoor, creative experiences for children aged 2 * - 9 years old. We place outdoor play and learning at the centre of a child’s day and aim to facilitate children freely and safely spending time outdoors in their natural environment.

* We are happy to take children at the Kindergarten within the term of their third birthday, but please note we have a limited number of places for 2-year-olds. For example, if your child turns 3 in December, they can start with us in September.

What our parents have to say about us ………

Out there provides unrivalled early years care! As a former Playworker I cannot fault the care and approach all the staff take. My daughter loves kindy and is stimulated and stretched in her learning and understanding of the world. My child being outdoors and allowed to take considered risks is so important to me as it’s the most effective way for small children to learn and be happy.

Sending our little boy to Out There is undoubtedly the best parenting decision we have made to date. He has flourished in the creative, adventurous and nurturing environment and in the outstanding care of the team. I can’t recommend it enough!
— Terri Rotchell, Brislington
Our 3 year old daughter has been attending two days a week since January 2018. She is thriving under the watchful eye and careful planning of this amazing team. We wanted an experience for our daughter that complimented what we already offered her. As much as we would love to spend more time outdoors as a family it is not always possible or practical.
— Kay Jones, Brislington
Our son loves Out There. He literally runs to the front door, always receives a super warm welcome from the Out There team and is full of stories of his outdoor adventures at home time. He has learnt so much about nature and the environment and has grown in confidence from day 1. The breakfast and after school clubs are great too. Couldn’t recommend Out There highly enough!

Our daughter has attended Out There Kindergarten in Stapleton since it opened last September. She can be very shy and quiet and sometimes finds it hard to adjust to new people and places, however thanks to the wonderful staff she settled in straight away. She quickly developed a strong relationship with her Key Worker, who has been a great support and keeps us updated regularly with her activities and development. We could not be happier with the staff and we have seen our daughters confidence grow day by day both at Kindergarten and at home. She completely thrives in being in an outdoor environment and the forest school setting is perfect.

It is an amazing space for the children to just be children! Their natural curiosity and desire to learn is beautifully fostered. We love the forest school ethos and the values of the place. We feel very lucky to be a part of Out There.
I especially like the range of activities and skills my child is involved with. I love the fact they were hammering real nails with real hammers into potatoes the other week. Exposure to riskier activities and improving my daughter’s ability to risk assess and keep herself safe.
We have used other childcare provision for our child and for experiential learning, this wins by a mile! Every week, when I pick my daughter up she’s usually filthy, exhausted and HAPPY.

“We place outdoor play and learning at the centre of a child’s day”

Incredible. Super caring, flexible, child-centred approach. Children have the freedom to explore as they wish, with adults supporting and inspiring the children in a very intuitive, sensitive way. My son has evidently become more self-confident and at-one in the outdoor environment and more socially secure and confident. I highly recommend Out There!

Out There is a wonderful setting for preschoolers. My daughter has so much fun. She comes home full of beans and excited stories about all the outdoor fun and things she has learned. Lovely staff, great communication. It’s just an all round excellent place.
— Amy Little, Stapleton and Brislington
My son absolutely loves coming to Out There Kindergarten & has quickly settled since starting after Easter. The staffs passion for child-centred, outdoor learning is evident in everything they do. Their sense of adventure, nurturing relationships & woodland setting mean the kindergarten offers an outstanding early years environment. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them. My son wakes up every morning asking if it’s forest school today!!
— Jess Hunter, Brislington
I just want to say I think Out There is wonderful for my children. Even my youngest, who moans when it’s cold, loves it. I can see such a difference in how happy they are, and how much more they are offered, which is amazing.

My daughter loves her time at Out There, especially in the woods sliding down the muddy slopes! She’s very excited to be spending a couple of days with you guys at half term. Keep up the good work.

The more time our son spends at Out There Kindergarten, the more we like what they are about. We’re super confident we’ve made the right choice for him and feel very feel lucky to have a place. They’ve created something quite special and deserve a big well done.
